The Miracle of Christmas

Okay, I (Taya) admit it. I LOVE Christmas music. I wait with anticipation all year long (and I am known to sneak in a few songs as early as September) and it always makes me sad when I have to put the Christmas cd's away for the next year. It seems like every year I have a song that I love to play over and over again- One Song that really captures the feelings of that Christmas. This year that song for me has been the song “The Miracle of Christmas” from Steven Curtis Chapman’s newest Christmas CD “All I Really Want For Christmas.

What I love about this song is that it is a reminder to me that God is the same God today as He was at that first Christmas 2,000 years ago. He is still alive, active and relevant for our lives today. As the song says, The God who spoke then is still speaking to us now and the God who came then, still comes to us now. As we stand here in our real world full of problems, past hurts, questions and future hopes we can rest in knowing that “God is with us.” For our family, this is the true miracle of Christmas...this is what gives Christmas it's significance.

My Rhapsody Playlist

A child is born tonight in Bethlehem
His mother holds him close and sings a sweet lullaby
All the world lay sleeping unaware that God Himself has come in the night

The shepherds tremble as the angels sing
And in their song the voice of God speaks peace to the world
A miracle has happened, God has come and God has spoken
But the miracle has only just begun

And the God who spoke is speaking still
And the God who came still comes
And the miracle that happened still happens in the heart that will believe
And receive the miracle of Christmas

So come to Bethlehem again and see
The One who’s come to rescue us, our Savior and King
Bring your past, the joy, the sorrow, all your hope to find tomorrow
And hear the words again, fear not and know that God is near

And the God who spoke is speaking still
And the God who came still comes
And the miracle that happened still happens in the heart that will believe
And receive the miracle of Christmas

Believe the miracle of Christmas
Will you believe?
