A Call to Prayer...

As many of you know, although Taya and I are working with FamilyLife, we are actually missionaries on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ. One of the things we love about being on staff with Crusade is all of the exciting things that the ministry is doing- from the Jesus film (the most watched and most translated film of all time) to Athletes in Action to Executive Ministries (working with some of the wealthiest people in America) to Here's Life Inner City and GAIN working with the poorest of the poor in the US and around the world. We're excited about our role with FamilyLife, but we also love the fact that we get to be a part of all that God is doing through Campus as a whole. On that note we wanted to pass along a prayer request for some of our fellow co-workers. Due to the country they are working in much of the details need to be vague. Here it is:

Dear U.S. Staff,

I want to make you aware of a situation that is happening in Asia and ask you to join me in prayer. Below, you will find a letter from one of our Directors of Affairs with some brief details and a request for people around the world to intercede. Specific details have been left out for obvious reasons. I heartily ask that you would make this a priority during your prayer times as we ask God to intervene for the sake of His name.

Thank you,

Steve Sellers, Vice President of the Americas

Dear Friends,

I am writing this e-mail to request your prayers for a difficult situation we are facing in our region. There are approximately 41 of our associates in prison in a South Asian nation and their trial is expected to begin on July 3.

It is our desire to challenge at least 41,000 people to pray for the 41 dear ones in prison when the trial starts.

Would you please join us in praying that:

God will fill their hearts with the joy of the Lord and His peace that surpasses all understanding, while they remain in prison.
God will continue to use them inside the prison, as He has already, for the salvation of many more souls. He is doing mighty things!
The word of the Lord in Luke 21:13-15 "It will lead to an opportunity for your testimony… for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute," will become true when the trial starts.
The judges will be overcome with a deep sense of righteousness, justice and fear of the Lord.

The trial can last for at least a month. I have limitations in communication due to security reasons, but I will try to keep you informed. Thank you for standing with us on this important matter,

Anonymous Director of Affairs
