Haste makes Waste...

This has been a season of waiting. As we prepare to move to Australia we feel like we're waiting for one thing after another.
  • Waiting paperwork to be processed
  • Waiting for Elijah's passport (there was a glitch)
  • Waiting to transition our current work assignment to someone else
  • Waiting for wisdom on shipping a container of supplies or just showing up down under with a few suitcases
  • Waiting for the right time to sell things we use frequently here (like a car), but definitely won't be taking with us
  • Waiting for visa applications
  • Waiting for a house showing
  • Waiting for an offer
  • Waiting for a good offer
  • Waiting for a sold sign

*By the way; if you're a praying person, these are all things we'd appreciate your prayers on!*

The other day we found ourselves feeling very anxious about all of this waiting. Things haven't gone according to our plan, and as we get ready to flip the calendar to November we're realizing that our plan and our timeline has basically expired.

That's when we read this verse:

It's the strangest thing.

The moment that we feel our plans slipping through our fingers, we also feel the greatest peace.

We believe that God is Sovereign and our trust is in Him- so we don't need to be in a hurry.

We never want to be those people who wish their lives away instead of living in the moment.  So instead of worrying that things are moving slowly, we're trying to be thankful and we're making a choice to not waste this season of waiting.

How about you?  Are you waiting for something big right now?  Would you classify yourself as a good "waiter"?

"If the Lord makes us wait, let us do so with our whole hearts... He is worth waiting for. The waiting itself is beneficial to us: it tries faith, exercises patience, trains submission, and endears the blessing when it comes. The Lord's people have always been a waiting people." -C.H. Spurgeon

We are so thankful that some of the waiting is over. God will always go before you and prepare the way "at just the right time". We have great faith in His plan and purpose for your lives. We love you kids so much. We are so proud of you. We miss you and can't wait until we see you! (oops...I mean...we will wait patiently but with great excitement to see you!!! =)

I hate waiting...in fact its the worst part of life for me!

Seriously I can take YESes and I can take the NOs but what is the hardest thing for me to take is the command to WAIT.

I am very thankful that I have a God who is in control of ALL things and I take deep comfort in knowing that He is knows all things and there fore is in control of ALL things!

You guys are in my thoughts and prayers as you WAIT on God's perfect timing on all things esp the things related to your move....which I am very envious of...I love Australia! :)

Thanks for what you guys are doing to further the Kingdom!
