February 9: Papa loves to take the boys outside to check "the great outdoors." They love seeing the trucks go by, watching for birds, & listening to dogs bark. But most of all they love being together.
February 10: Elijah's first taste of a non-food item: Aunty Taryn's deodorant. Our first thought was "yuck!" Our second thought was "PANIC." And our third thought was "this has to be our picture of the day."
February 11: Isaiah has always loved books. Seeing him fall asleep part-way through this book was priceless.
February 12: As I was feeding Elijah peaches, he grabbed the fork right out of my hand & began to feed himself! Just another way he's showing us that he's growing up & wants to be a big boy.
February 13: In preparation for a special dinner with out-of-town family (the Reed's) we baked & decorated our traditional Valentines cookies. Isaiah is old enough to help me make them & his special job is to
Recipe:
Mom's Sugar Cookies
- 1 cup butter
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Buttercream Frosting
- 1/2 cup shortening & 1/2 cup butter {cream together]
- {then add & mix} 1 teaspoon vanilla
- {then add slowly & mix} 4 cups powdered sugar
- {then add & mix} 2 tablespoons milk
