MLK Day...

You know, this really wasn't that long ago. Now that we live in Little Rock, a city where the public schools were closed for an entire year in 1957 trying to keep black kids out of the white kids' school, we realize that we should have been more sensitive to racial equality all along. The bible's simplest description of God is found in 1 John 4:16 "God is Love." And it's only fitting that as Christians we should be known by our love for others also.

A few of my favorite Martin Luther King Jr. Quotes:

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

"If a man is called to be a streetsweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great streetsweeper who did his job well."

"We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the vitriolic words and actions of the bad people, but for the appalling silence of the good people."

"The time is always right to do what is right."

We were incredibly moved...chills up and down our arms as we listened again to MLK speech. What an "annointed" message!
Thanks for posting this.
We love you...always
