Love is in the air...

Valentines Days was our favorite holiday when we were dating...and it still is today. When we were dating the key was always to try to be creative in an attempt to sweep Taya off her feet. Now as parents of a little guy, the key is to be creative in an attempt to carve out the time and place to keep the romance blazing. Tonight we'll put Isaiah to bed and have a candlelight dinner and a little dancing, and then on Friday we are going up to the Ozarks for a "Weekend to Remember" conference; only we're going as guests and not as FamilyLife staff and we're really looking forward to that time to invest into our marriage.

I always appreciate the fact that holidays like valentines day and mothers day are on the calendar. Otherwise it would just be too easy to get busy with "important stuff" and fail to honor the "important people" in our lives. The simplest definition of God is found in 1 John 4:16, "God is Love." So it's only fitting that as followers of God, we should be known for showing love to others.

“What a grand thing, to be loved! What a grander thing still, to love!” ~Victor Hugo
