Who says kids have to suck the love out of the relationship?

We have had some incredible Valentines celebrations over the years (our very first one included a horse-drawn carriage and the symphony, and it seems like they've just gotten better and better), but this year's Love-Day goes down as one of our personal favorites. We embraced the fact that we have young kids and we included them in our stay-at-home festivities.

The morning started with cards and a fun little gift for Isaiah and then we started making food... basically if it was sweet or could be fashioned into a heart, we included it in the menu! Throughout the day we gave each other hundreds of kisses and hugs and giggles and smiles.

One of the highlights for Isaiah was decorating cookies and delivering them to his friends and Miss Mariah. It was so fun to watch Isaiah working on his Valentines cards and cookies.  He looked like a surgeon as he was decorating the cookies.  He wanted to pick just the right sprinkles out for each person and he was soooooo excited to give them away.  We hope our kids grow to understand that love is a verb and so much more than a feeling.  On this Valentines Day we had plenty of both!

*Of course we ended up making more than enough cookies, so Ross was able to have them for dessert last night, for breakfast this morning and as a snack with coffee later in the day.  He's not really looking forward to the post V-day sugar crash that will come mid-morning tomorrow...
